Before your visit
I’m looking to book rooms for a group of 15 people. Do you have rooms for groups?
We love groups! Please fill in the form on our group bookings page and we’ll get in touch with you.

Do you serve breakfast?
Yes, we do! You will find the Metropol restaurant at Both on the ground floor. You can book breakfast ahead of your arrival for 8,50€ (or 9,50€ when booking upon arrival). We cater to all kinds of dietary restrictions and preferences – please inform the staff if you have special needs.
Do you have wheelchair access?
Yes, we do! You’ll find a ramp at our front entrance, and the yard entrance has no steps. We have rooms available that are specifically wheelchair accessible. Kindly contact us for more information and booking instructions.
What languages do you speak?
Currently our staff is prepared to help you in Finnish, Swedish, and English, but we’ll do everything we can to help you out regardless of language.
How can I get to Both?
Both is super easy to find – we’re located right in the city center. It takes just 10 minutes to walk to Both from the Central Railway Station. Here’s a detailed guide!
I’m trying to make a booking for January, but keep getting a “no availability” notification. Are you all booked?
Unfortunately Both is a summer hostel – we’re only open from the 1st of June to the 1st of September. During the semester our rooms serve international students as a dormitory.
How do you compensate your CO2 emissions?
We’re glad you asked! Both is part of the WWF Green Office operative, which means we thrive to make our emissions as small as possible and use as many ecologically sustainable options as possible. We track all the emissions from running Both, and pay an annual compensation fee to offset them. There’s a lot of great minds and foolproof mathematics involved.
Can I book a parking lot for my car?

Can I have an extra bed added to my room?
Unfortunately we do not have any additional beds to add to the rooms. You can book a baby cot from the reception and children under 4 years can sleep together with their parents. Otherwise we kindly ask you to reserve several rooms with the correct number of beds for your stay.
During your visit
My electronics use a different plug. Can I borrow an adapter?
While we can’t borrow you one, we do sell adapters at the reception of Both.
Can I borrow a charger for my phone or my laptop?
We sell chargers for some types of electronics at our reception, but you can easily purchase a spare downtown as well. Our staff is happy to help you with locating a store.
Do you offer guided tours or walking tours?
Yes and no – we organize events which our guests can join, some of which include touring the city. Check out our community page for more information about Both community events. If you have a specific destination or type of tour in mind, speak to our staff – we’re happy to help you find and book a tour.
I want to rent a bike. Where is the nearest bike rental?
There are several bike rental shops at the central area in Helsinki, and you can also rent one of the super popular Helsinki city bikes. Our staff is happy to help you with locating the nearest one. Read more about the city bikes here.
